Coconoto, a standout Orange Corners Nigeria alum, has achieved yet another milestone by emerging as one of the three winners of the 2024 TotalEnergies Startupper Challenge. Focused on creating sustainable value from coconut waste, Coconoto contributes to a more circular economy while promoting more environmentally-friendly practices. This unique approach addresses critical issues in food production and waste management, transforming what is often discarded into useful products for industries like agriculture and cosmetics.
Coconoto, led by Jacob Abiodun-Oluwayanmife, was one of the 100 startups selected across 32 African countries participating in the challenge this year, grabbing the “Cycle Up” for the best project relating to the circular economy. As one of the grand winners, they went home with N8 million (or about 5,000 euros).
