The event kicked off with Rania Akram, Senior Programme Analyst at our implementing partner Kapita, who highlighted the programme’s vital role in fostering innovation and empowering Iraq’s youth. Christian Hagedorn of the NL Embassy in Iraq, applauded the programme’s commitment to strengthening Iraq’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and reiterated the importance of continuous support for young entrepreneurs.

We also heard from Mohammed Hameed, Programme Manager at Kapita, who reflected on the programme’s transformative impact in building sustainable startups and driving Iraq’s private sector forward. The ceremony concluded with an inspiring speech by Mujahed Al-Waisi, CEO of Kapita, who congratulated the graduates on their achievements and emphasised their pivotal role in shaping a more prosperous future for Iraq.

To our new alumni: this is just the beginning! Your journey as changemakers and innovators is only getting started, and we can’t wait to see the impact you’ll create. Keep pushing boundaries and making a difference!
